Adopt a Lincoln Highway Sign
The LHHC erected approximately 200 Lincoln Highway signs all
along the corridor. Though the signs themselves have been paid
for, each requires annual liability insurance. Adopting a sign
costs $30. When a sign is adopted, the donor's name appears in
the Lincoln Highway Journal; a lapel pin and sign location map
are sent. To adopt a sign, send your name, address, and telephone
number along with your donation to: LHHC, P.O. Box 582, Ligonier,
PA 15658.

Participate in the Annual Road Rally
Each year, the LHHC sponsors a Road Rally through a portion
of the Lincoln Highway. For more information, check out the Road
Rally page on this site or call the LHHC office at (724)

Write an Article / Advertise in the Lincoln Highway
Journal
The Lincoln Highway Journal is published four times
a year by the LHHC. Articles cover everything from Lincoln Highway
history to current activities along the Corridor. Articles, pictures,
and postcards are always welcome. With 13,000 copies distributed
throughout the region, it is a great way to advertise to potential
customers. For more information on ad rates, or the Lincoln Highway
Journal, contact the LHHC office at (724) 238-9030.
Tell Us Your Story
The LHHC is actively seeking your Lincoln Highway stories! The
goal is to collect oral histories in order to better interpret the
Lincoln Highway experience. If you have a memory or story
about the Lincoln Highway in Pennsylvania, circa 1913-1940, we want
to hear it! To share your story, please contact the LHHC office
at (724) 238-9030.

LHHC Collection
The LHHC will soon have a Lincoln Highway Experience Center in
Ligonier. Part of that Center will offer a Lincoln Highway Library/Archives
area that will be open to the public. Recently, the Lincoln Highway
Heritage Corridor Board of Directors and Archives Committee adopted
a Collections Policy. The Collections Policy is a comprehensive
written statement articulating the purpose of the archives, and
how this purpose is pursued through the archives' collections goals,
activities and methods. A Collections Policy introduces consistency
into the day-to-day handling of the LHHC's collections.
If you have anything from the Lincoln Highway Era (1912-1940) such as photographs,
postcards, advertisements, souvenirs, vintage clothing, signs, maps, gasoline
pumps, please call Hallie at the LHHC office (724-238-9030) and she will
work with you. There are several options: a) a donation with a letter of
acknowledgement indicating the value for your item, and name recognition
at the Lincoln Highway Experience Center, b) a loan of an item with name
recognition at the Lincoln Highway Experience Center, and c) if you have
a two-dimensional item and are not able to donate it, you could bring it
in and we could scan the image for our files. Lots of possibilities and opportunities!
The items will be preserved in the archives for future educational use in
the library/archives area or displayed in exhibits housed in “The Lincoln Highway Experience.”
It is especially important for us to locate a donated vehicle (convertible
would be super!) for the Experience Center . It does not have to be operable
since it will be used to photograph visitors sitting in it.
